Microsoft Access Training

What is a database?

A database is an information management system that can store data for numerous types of business processing. Personnel Records, Product Sales and Ordering, Job Tracking and many more.

Relational databases can contain many tables: a table consists of rows (records) and columns (fields).

Microsoft Access is a popular and well-known program with very powerful features.

Why use a database?

Access has built-in features to allow you create a complete system with user interfaces and automated searches and reports. A Database built with MS Access can be shared with members of a team. Having one central store of information ensures that it is always up-to-date. Users can be granted levels of access appropriate to their role. Many people use a spreadsheet as a database but as the amount of data increases this can become unwieldy and thus the need arises to break this data into a more logical structure.
